FRUSTRATED!!! Not new to fitness Pal... new to posting, though

I am a 48 year old female, have always had to watch my weight since 6th grade. I have been successful in staying around a size 10 (sometimes 8) until the last 4 years (even after having 2 children)!! I need to lose 30 lbs. and cannot do it the way I used to... I have done Weight Watchers, diet pills, I workout 5 days per week... I have been seeing my doctor and we are trying Metformin. I started in November at 500 mg/day, then 1,000 mg/day without any change. 1 week ago I started taking 1,500/day. I know that journaling my food helps - but I HATE it!! I am giving it another try... I would appreciate words of wisdom from anyone who has been in my shoes!!!
