Fitbit pros vs cons question

Anybody use fitbit or orbit or something similar? Are they really worth the $$ vs a plain pedometer? Do they measure elliptical/biking better than pedometer...which are my preferred activities due to knee issues. Or do you find that most days it is one more thing that makes you feel bad at the end of the day? 50% of my weight problem is that food is yummy, but the other 50% is my negative self-talk...so don't want to add to that. I'm a light exerciser, and right now I haven't been eating any exercise calories and am losing weight at an acceptable pace, so I don't really want to mess with what's working, but yet wonder if getting one would help motivate me to do more exercise, which I know from a strength/flexibility/endurance perspective is something I need to do more of.
