I'm 20 years old and have always been tiny and able to eat what I wanted with no problem with my weight. Now that Im getting older I can't just eat everything I could before and its really hard for me to change these habits. Im now 30lbs over weight. I want to work out but it ends with going on pinterest. Ive started trying to eat better (trying) drinking more water and tea. But I just keep gaining weight. How do you stay motivatied? Tips? I'm new to this ):

I think everyone's motivation for being here is different. For some it's about looking good in a swimsuit. As we get older it's about health. Living life the best we can without medications or not being able to be active. I believe it should be about your health as the bottom line. Making our body last as long as possible. Motivation I believe has to come from within. It's about what's important to you.0

Honestly, I don't ALWAYS stay motivated lol. But for me, eating less just to lose weight has never worked for me. I set weight loss goals and they never stick. Obviously it's not important enough to me to actually make the changes. I find fitness goals work better for me. Whether it's running a longer distance, improving a run time, or lifting a heavier weight it gives me something to work toward. And I know that to do this, I have to fuel my body properly. Eating fast food 5 times a week is not going to help me get a faster time on my mile run. I will be the first to admit that even this doesn't always work and I have "fallen off the wagon" a time or two (or 5). I don't know if anyone is 100% motivated 100% of the time. As long as over the long term you are trying your best you will be successful.
I think you need to find a goal that really motivates you. Maybe it's to run a 5k, fit in a new pair of (smaller) jeans, squatting x amount of pounds or doing a chin up. Something that you really want & are willing to work for.0 -
Staying motivate to lose fat is no diffrent then staying motivated to achieve any other goal in life. Stay focused on your goal and always be working towards achieving it. just ask yourself , does this descision help me reach my goal ? If each descision you make helps then good, if it hinders then reacess the descision. It's pretty simple really. Make good descisions.0

Older? You are just a baby at 20! I am nearly three times your age and have grandchildren older than you. You haven't seen anything yet!
Have you entered all the info in MFP, established goals, and started logging all your food? That is the first step, there are no shortcuts. You have to consume less than you burn.
Seeing the pounds fall off is all the motivation I need. If you follow the MFP program correctly, you will lose those extra pounds.0
