What do you think?

I posted a similar thread in Chit chat, but I am genuinely curious:
What do you think of McDonald's "Pay with lovin" thing they have going on. Basically at random they choose people for a chance to pay for their food with an action instead of money. Either it's a fist bump, dance, or they could ask the person to hug someone in line with them.

I think it's creepy. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Also, if this post violates any rules, let me know and I'll ask for it to be deleted.

I think its a great marketing technique but definitely creepy! And what are your odds of actually winning?!!?! It just makes it "fun" to eat crap and get fat! So sad!!

I'll fist bump or hug anyone to NOT have to eat McDonald's. *Dry heave*

I think the odds of winning aren't great. From what I've read, each store picks 100 random people throughout the entire promotion.

You should see how offended people are because I made a joke on facebook. All I said was "If I'm going to *kitten* myself out for food, it would have to be a lot better than McDonalds" I really meant it in light humor, but a couple people took it seriously. Jokes aren't funny if you have to explain that they're jokes...

I think it's an interesting idea but McDonalds where I'm from can get pretty sketchy. They are open 24 hours and have no security so you see a lot of drug deals, people passed out on tables, that sort of thing. I try to get in, get the coffee, and get out without eye contact.

I'd rather they just do the monopoly promotion, offer more prizes or something.

I would fist bump or dance for a McFlurry.

They were talking about this article on the radio today - it sounds truly horrifying. http://www.wsj.com/articles/kate-bachelder-im-not-lovin-it-mcdonalds-1423008904

Not that I go to McDonald's often but I think I'll avoid it to not have to be humiliated before receiving my food.

My brother in law won a free breakfast, a couple days ago , he tried to shake some guys hand and just got a weird look from him, so then he called up his mom on his cell phone to wish her a good day, and he got his breakfast free.

In one commercial, they tell the customer to call his mom and tell him he loves her. If that happened to me, I don't whether I would start crying or get angry. I did when I could, but I can't, since she's dead. Maybe I would invite the McDonald's employee to go to the cemetery with me.

It seems like a cute idea until you start thinking about it. Most of the examples they show in the commercial could be wildly inappropriate for some segment of the population.

Prostitution is legal in Germany. Paying with lovin might have a totally different meaning here ... Ein McBJ, bitte.
