Okay so I have it set to counting my steps throughout the day
But I usually speed walk or jog as my daily exercise, do I add that in "exercise" or since it's already counted the steps I don't log it ?
Please help!
Thanks

Keeping track of your steps is a good thing, but shouldn't be counted as exercise since you have to walk at least occasionally during the day. Only put the speed walking or jogging sessions as exercise to be fair to yourself.

    I don't log any step-based activity.

Good, then you're on the right track!

No no I don't count the steps as my exercise, but since the app continuously counts my steps it's counting while I jog as well, then I log in my jogging as my exercise, but is that the correct way to do it? Or am I double counting?

I have a Fitbit synced and I get calorie adjustments based on my step-activity. If I walk or go for a jog, I'm going to get a calorie adjustment, and the adjustment will be more or less depending on intensity, i.e. steps per minute.

I don't know what device you are using, but with my Fitbit device, logging jogging as a separate exercise would result in double-counting. That's how I understand it.

I agree with the fit bit comment. I wear mine everyday and don't "double log" it tracks it all for me:) good luck to you

Pick a technique and use it for a period of time. Measure your progress and adjust as needed.
