I use olive oil for my cooking usually but it racks up my calories quit a bit for a cooking agent, would a cooking spray be better ? Or alternative cooking agents ?
I don't want 120-150 calories just for something I use to cook, so any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks :)

I usually saute with a teaspoon of olive oil and add a bit of water if it looks like things are drying out. Maybe try an oil mister?

The only thing I use cooking spray for is when I bake. Bakers Joy is really awesome.

I use a oil mister - it really makes the oil go a very long way. I don't even use a teaspoon when I spray something.

Another option - by good cookware. I have awesome ceramic pans. I cooked a chicken breast last night with no oil, butter or anything. Chicken wasn't dry either I used some light BBQ Sauce to coat it in.

Try doing a healthy saute with some broth instead of oil... unless you are planning to fry something, sauteing works just as well for most things and it's very low calorie (bonus-- buy a low or no sodium broth to keep the salt in check). I do use cooking spray a lot, though, for egg white omelets (Baker's & Chef's brand from Sam's Club is awesome). If you keep the sprays short and light, you're not going to be eating a lot of calories.
