Maybe someone can help me figure it out...Vivofit vs MapMyRun

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but here goes anyway. I decided due to my activity level fluctuating day to day I have set my activity level on Sedentary and let me Vivofit add extra calories if I am active enough. Now this has been working for me for a while but I have recently started jogging/walking. I use MapMyRun for this and it syncs with MFP. My only question about this is whenever I have a calorie burn due to the jog/walk I never get anything from the Vivofit. No I am not talking about a duplication I understand that but I'm talking about exceeding my "sedentary" level by say 3000 steps not counting my jog/walk. Does anyone else have this problem? And does that make sense?

I am a little unclear...so the Vivofit isn't picking up your jogs, or the distance is off by 3000 steps?

Ok maybe I didn't explain well enough. I use the Mapmyrun for just my job. That syncs fine. It's my steps that don't sync. I am on sedentary and I've found that anything over 5000 steps starts to slowly add extra calories for me. So say I've walked 8000 steps before my jog, those "extra" 3000 don't seem to get counted. Does that make better sense? My brain goes faster than my fingers sometimes!

So the vivofit syncs, but doesn't add a big caloric jump with an extra 3000 steps?

Is it possible that the extra steps just aren't adding much? I don't use a vivofit but my fitness tracker has me at 2k+ steps today and about 120 in burned calories-how much are the 3000 extra steps giving you? Or are they not giving you any?

I know it's not much but it's still usually at least like 100 calories or something (depending on the actual # of steps) but no it's not giving me anything.
