Is it possible to gain lean body mass by doing push ups and drinking whey protein? I want to drop from 18% bf to like 12%-15%

If you eat at a caloric surplus. And uh.. do more than just push ups.

Then you will not gain any lean body mass. Diet first, then bulk and add mass.

So I am kind of in the right path with the caloric intake then. Thanks

It's important to give some perspective here when stating your caloric intake because your personal BMR/TDEE is something that others have no idea about.

About your question: I think http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/how-to-build-muscle-and-lose-fat/ pretty much answers it. And yeah, you might wanna give your whole body a workout, not restrict yourself to just pushups. If getting out or to the gym is a problem, try Nerd Fitness' bodyweight routine. Also, YouTube has a lot of good channels (BuffDudes' home workout is pretty neat).
