i had a turkey wrap, come to find out that the wrap itself in addition to the turkey was 1500 mg. it seems everything that is lower fat and lower cal is high salt. Basically any processed food. Had a small piece of salmon with spinach at Applebee's around 500 calories but 1500 sodium. Appalling.

Well. Our bodies tend to enjoy: Sugar, Fat, Salt.
If they "cut" out one or two, they have to up the other(s) to make it bearable.
Restaurants take normally healthy foot and add any of those three to make it even "tastier" so that you'll go back. :\

Yes it's crazy how much added salt there is to products, especially the processed foods. Guess it's the only way to make them palatable and have a shelf life of several weeks. I cook most of my meals and I still have to watch my sodium levels.

Turkey deli meat is so salty it tastes like ham to me. Butterball has a lower sodium turkey option but it's only available at 1 grocer here that isn't anywhere near close to me. The sodium is about half of others "lower" sodium options.

Roast a turkey breast at home and either slice it or shred it. It tastes much better and so much lower salt content. I do that and freeze portions so I have some ready to go.

I learned to make a lunch and bring it whenever possible, saved money, and I didn't have to walk around the rest of the day guzzling water to get rid of that parched feeling.

Firstly, when they remove fat from products they also remove a lot of flavour, which is why they add salt, to make it taste better.
Secondly, Why is it appalling? salt is a preservative, how else do you expect a wrap that was made months ago to last until you want to eat it?
