Fiber vs Calories

A theoretical.

If my goal is 1500 calories per day and I'm at 1460, would it be worth it to make myself eat something with lots of fiber, say chia seeds if it would make me slightly over my calorie goal for the day.

I've made a lot of lifestyle changes and I'm now at a point where I'm eating healthy enough that I can evaluate what I'm consuming. I'm currently averaging about 15 grams of fiber daily and according to fitness pal my goal should be 25.

I know the simple answer would be to just eat more plates containing fiber but thought I'd pose that question as it was something I was wondering last night.

I wouldn't unless you think fiber would deal with digestive issues you are currently experiencing. You'll usually want to increase fiber gradually anyway. I'd just look at your diary and try to substitute in things with somewhat more fiber or add more fruit and veggies (or incorporate chia seeds if that's your preference) over time and going forward.

40 calories isn't worth worrying about. Variations in food may have pushed you over 1500 or below 1400 anyway.
