Can someone please help me figure out how many calories I should be ingesting daily so I avoid starvation mode. I am pretty new to all of this, even some general information that will help me figure it out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Figure out your TDEE, here is the link: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ ...if you have more than 30 pounds to lose set it at 20%, less than 30 pounds 10%, good luck!! :flowerforyou:0

Or enter your information into MFP, chose 1 lb. loss, and your job activity. Eat that number plus any exercise calories earned.0

Hey use http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and fill in your stats. You could also use the worlds most accurate calorie calculator there is a link near the bottom of that page or link here: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/.
Calculate your bmr and your tdee. You shouldn't go under your bmr for weeks on end.
Hope this helps.0 -
Why work hard? Go to Goals under your profile, answer the questions, say how fast you want to lose (they suggest a pound a week) and it will tell you.0

MFP has already built in a deficit for you. The exercise calories it gives you can be overestimated, but you should be eating back at least half of what it tells you.0 -
i googled bmi and bmr and i found a site to calculate. good luck! im just learning it !0

If you get a minimum of 1200 calories a day in as recommended then you should be doing fine. Eat more if you find you are hungry. Everyone is different. Can someone please help me figure out how many calories I should be ingesting daily so I avoid starvation mode. I would not worry much about starvation mode. It is a very miss-used term on this site. Yes, as you lose weight your metabolism will reduce, but the majority of that is merely the result of fat loss. The adaptive component takes a bit more dedication before it sinks in. I assure you, you will know if that starts. Your mind gets foggy, its harder to pay attention, and you will notice hormonal changes that make daily life a little sucky.
From your profile it looks like you are a cardio girl. You can adjust the iifym settings in the link below to fit that. The MFP settings are likely fine for cardio only. If you start weight training you might want to look to something like the IIFYM link.
