TDEE/HRM question

Hello! I am writing this from my phone which seems to be a little glitchy so I hope it works this time! Anyways, I have a question about TDEE and how many calories I should be consuming. I am 24, 5'5 and 180lbs. When I put my stuff into a TDEE calculator it comes out with just under 2400 for calorie expenditure for a day. I don't exercise that much, but I do walk 20mins to work and am on my feet for 8hrs a day cashiering 5x a week. So here's where the confusion comes - as an experiment I wore my polar HRM for 24 hrs to see what it came up to... It was nearly 4000 calories! Can this be accurate!? MFP is telling me to eat 1200 calories. I am so confused. What should I be following?

HRMs are accurate for steady state cardio only. They are not meant to be worn all day and will not give you an accurate number outside of steady state cardio.0
