Hello Fellow Fitness Pals.... I have been on this site for years now but my husband and I have just recently decided that it is time to start trying for a sweet little baby to add to our family. I have already been successful in losing 40 pounds or so since I first started dating my husband a few years ago. I would love to lose the rest of it before I become pregnant. Unforunately I am stuck in a walking air cast and will be having surgery in April or May of this year. For these two reasons I desperately need to lose the rest of my weight soon. Any helpful tips and advice would be great. My husband and I are on a tight budget so gyn memberships are not an option. THANKS IN ADVANCE FITNESS PALS! wink:

That's wonderful about trying to start a family. I pray everything goes as planned.

If you can't exercise to burn more, you'll have to cut back your calories so you can create a deficit. Some of the habits that make it easier for ME to eat at a deficit:

    1) Filling up on more veggies/ fruits
    2) Making sure I don't skip breakfast
    3) Planning for (pre-logging) my treats and high calorie foods so I can make my day fit around them
    4) Skipping restaurants/ fast food most of the time and cooking a lot more
    5) Eating at a slight deficit and losing weight slowly (1 pound a week)
    6) Setting my calories based on the TDEE calculators (try scooby workshop) vs. the MFP suggested calories.
    7) Getting enough protein to feel satiated
    7) LOGGING!!

You don't need to do ANY of these things to eat at a deficit, but it would be helpful to see what habits you can incorporate that will work for you. I also recommend you search for workouts for people who are wheel chair bound etc. that focus on punching and upper body work.

    Good luck!

What's the injury that has you in an air cast? I recently got out of one for an ankle sprain.

Echoing the tips above for your intake.
If your injury is one that isn't too serious, get clearance from your doctor, and see if it's appropriate to take on walking. Even if it's slow, anything that gets you moving will only help you. Just make sure that you don't overdo it and cause more damage!

is swimming allowed? It would help with exercise but calories in are really the most important part.
