Hi

I am a new user, I tried it once but was unsucessful because my goals were too high, but now I have adjusted my goals and I have lost 5lb in six days. I guess you know I have a lot of weight to lose, but I have begun and I am determined not to quit. If this works I may cancel my weight loss surgery:)

welcome and this is a great site. I had the lap band surgery 11-21-2012 and to date have lost 78 pounds. The surgery helps, but you still have to watch what you eat and exercise. What I really like about this site is keeping track of what I eat and exercise. The friends I have made give me the support I need to not give up. If you want to add me as a friend that would be great..
  • Hi and welcome!
I too, have a lot of weight to lose. At first, I also set my goals too high (I set them for 125) Then I went online to see how much I should weigh according to my height and bone structure (now it is set for 165.) By lowering my weight loss goal, I feel like I can really achieve it. It feels good to know I only have 95 pounds to lose instead of 135. I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss journey.
  • Hello! I also have a lot to lose, but have found I stay much more motivated when I set small goals for myself to add up to a larger goal. My small goals are 5 lbs, and at 30 lbs I will reevaluate. It's much more fun to see every pound I lose rather than how much I have left to go. (My ideal body weight is 180 and not the 150-160 I wanted it to be.) But for now, I do a dance when I see a change of a few pounds and know my body is changing when I can walk the three flights of stairs to my office and not be winded anymore :) It's an amazing feeling. Anyway, welcome and good luck to you!
