Hi
I am wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me. I was diagnosed with Hypothryoidism about 7 years ago and I am currently on 175 mg levothyroxin and 2000 mg Metformin. I was always told I had PCOS because of where my weight lies on me and I have very high insulin resistance. When I started going to my newest endocrinologist he tested my testosterone and all my hormones are normal (well reproductive, which I am very happy about) but I am not sure what is causing my insulin resistance or constant weight problems... anyone have any ideas

This is pretty much me. Insulin resistance, hypothyroidism, and testosterone levels in the gutter. :\ It's a PITA to lose the weight, but the Metformin does help, a lot. I'm also Vitamin D and B12 deficient, neither of which help weight loss or metabolism.

I'm also on Vitamin D and B12 but they don't help me either. Especially the lack of energy- my endo told me the b12 will give me more energy but if I don't get 10-12 hours of sleep I'm barley functional.

MFP has a Hypothyroidism & Hyperthyroidism group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/753-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). I lost weight slowly, so be patient. But I did it just like everybody else—by eating fewer calories than I burn.
