You need to open your diary, otherwise it is difficult to comment.0 -
Could be a number of things.....
If you are on a very low calorie diet (trying to lose too quickly) .... then you will be subject to plateaus ... your body gets very stingy when it thinks you are starving it. With 20 pounds to lose you should be looking for a max of 1 pound per week..... 1/2 pound per week for 15 pounds, etc.
I could be you have lost weight .... but had a couple of high sodium days .... you are hanging onto a lot of water.
Time of the month .....
Try taking measurements .... sometimes you will find you lost an inch or two .... but no pounds..... it's still progress.0 -
1. Be patient. It took time to put the weight on. It will take time to take it off.
2. We would love to help and give you some hints if we could have a little bit more information about what you are already doing.
3. The SCALE is EVIL. I only weigh myself once or twice a month. Otherwise it drives me crazy.0 -
Things I have been doing to try to lose. 1. stopped drinking all soda, 2. no sweets, 3. no caffeine the only thing I am drinking is water on occasions I use those crystal light go packs to give it flavor. 4. cut out all white startch foods.0

Have you tried logging your food, counting calories, and exercising yet?0 -

It's not about the types of foods to help you...... or prevent you from losing weight ... it really is calories in vs. calories out. Too few calories .... your weight loss will stall. Eating more than you "think" you are eating ..... your weight loss will stall. Giving yourself too much credit (or zero credit while using MFP as designed) .... for exercise performed.... your weight loss will stall.
Drinking water is helpful to keep things moving along. But the types of food (starches vs. sweets vs. caffeine) .... that's more about quality .... how do you feel while on a diet? .... What will your body look like (exercise is super important as well) after you are done dieting? You will find that cutting out (most) sweets & (maybe) starches will help you stay full longer. Adding protein & exercise is helpful to maintain muscle mass. Fats are super important to bodily functions & keep you full as well.
I drink soda .... in moderation .... I eat "white" foods ..... in moderation. OMG .... no way can I cut out caffeine ... but I still lose weight. I try to lose weight in a manner that I can maintain is very important for me .....lifestyle changes.0
