This is my first time here and i am sorry I came. I came to ask a question in food and nutrition but was greeted by a thread that bashes people who follow trends etc.
Personally I don't care what someone else believes. I happen to be thrilled gluten free is trendy because I medically need gliuten free. I have a rare disorder that means my tisues are easily damaged and wheat makes me very ill. I don't need to be torn down for that
I had a question but I'm so disappointed i will look elsewhere. What a first impression. I thought people here would boost each other... can you imagine being on a special diet and you login to see dozens of people tearing you down just because they don't agree with how you eat?

Toughen up buttercup - it's the internet
Gluten free is only relevant for people like you who have a medical condition such as coeliac etc...other people jump on it as a weight loss salve and that's ridiculous ...people should call them out because actually lots of gluten-free produce is higher in calories / fat and losing weight is about calorie defecit0 -
I get migraines. Bad ones that send me blind and make me lose feeling down one side. When I interact with people who *kitten* to me about having a really bad migraine, while going about their business, using their computer, working under fluros - they *kitten* me to tears.
I don't get why you're offended that people who are using your disorder to justify a stupid diet trend are being torn down - they just undermine the seriousness of your disorder and make people take you less seriously, as well as making food manufacturers and restaurants think that it doesn't matter if there is a "little bit" of gluten in the food they label gluten free.
No one is tearing down your disorder. They're sick of the bandwagon hopping pretenders.1
