Hi, I´m a student from London. I used to weigh 19 stone now Im stuck on 11. My ideal weight would be 9 and a half stone, but I want to start focusing on building muscle not just loosing weight. Would love to find a fitness buddy too, especially someone who´s going through the same as me- aka- not getting those last pounds of.

too build muscle you have to eat a caloric surplus. to lose weight you have to eat a caloric deficit. you can still lift weights while on a caloric deficit to preserve any muscle you have but you wont gain much muscle if any on a deficit. I learned this a few years ago. I gained some muscle when I first started lifting but I wasnt in a deficit. now that I am Im just lifting to preserve it and get stronger. Im have to lose the weight and fat first and then I will eat at a surplus and start building the muscle(it will take awhile though).

Antonio: consider yourself added
Charlie: I haven´t thought about it like that before, I didnt know you had to eat a caloric surplus. I figured I would just continue doing what I do now but eating more protein than carb and doing more strength training than cardio. Thanks for the info0
