I have a question and I apologize in advance if this is something basic but i'm confused on the the term calorie burn. According to this article here builtlean.com/2010/03/14/how-to-calculate-your-calorie-burn/ and using the Harris Benedict Method for calculating calorie burn, I come out at 2390 calories. Does that mean i'm supposed to be eating those amount of calories per day or is this what my body is burning per day just existing?

First up - all numbers are estimates.

That calculation would suggest that if you ate 2390 calories per day, you'd stay the weight you are (ie that's what you're burning each day - calories in, calories out)

if you plug your numbers into MFP it'll tell you what you should aim for in order to lose weight.

That is what your body burns daily. You adjust your calories based on that number to lose or gain weight.
