Hello! I am new here...

Greetings everyone! I am a newbie here but I am trying hard to lose weight this summer and hope to find motivation here! I am about 30 pounds over weight that I have let accumulate over the last four years while finishing 3 college degrees...Not using that as an excuse, I just allowed it to happen but not anymore! I am destined to get rid of the blubber and move on! I have a husband of 19 years, an 18 year old son headed to college in the fall for EMT/Paramedic program, a husband looking to be in the Occupational Therapy program and I am in the Nurse Educator Track at University of Arkansas. I teach health science courses at the high school level and absolutely love it! But with all that said, those things mean very little "me time" and a lot of studying, writing tests, and reading lots and lots and lots of material...But I have figured that my text books fit nicely on the shelf of the treadmill and I can walk and study at the same time. I need some motivators on here though, I have two friends that are local that are on here and I would love to have a few more to bounce ideas off of since I am so new!
Nice to meet everyone! :flowerforyou:

Gym workouts...Right now I go 5 times a week for 60 minutes each time and do 25 minutes on the elliptical and 35 minutes on the treadmill..I have a bum knee so running isn't much of a possibility but fast walking is! I really want to get my mile down below 15 minutes this week as it hangs on at 15'11" which is killing me! I started out at way over 20 three weeks ago so I am making progress, just can't push my knee too fast...I do ride my bike in town some and do a little weight lifting...I totally changed my diet and gave up all soda...I drink all water now, eat pretty healthy and try to maintain my 1300 calories per day...I was eating three donuts every morning for breakfast, breadsticks with cheese every day for lunch and who only knows what for supper due to my lifestyle and being gone all the time...Not now!!!! Protein smoothies are my friend!!! I can make some pretty darn good smoothies!!! I would appreciate some friends for motivation though!!0
