Fitbit Flex VS Polar Ft4/7

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to this exercising stuff but have just discovered a real passion for running!
I really need a product which can tell me my calorie burn and give me an indicator on how I'm working out so I can establish if I'm pushing myself hard enough for my weightloss goals!
Any advice on the products above would be greatly appreciated!!

    For running I would start with some form of GPS tracking, rather than an HRM, it's more relevant to know distance, pace, elevation to judge your effort.

    If you have a smartphone then Runkeeper or Endomondo are good, and can work with a Polar device to blend in HR data in the future.

    Your other option would be to go to the Forerunner 15, which gives you a step counter functionality as well as the GPS tracking. Personally I use a Garmin FR310XT, which is reasonably priced at the moment.
