Hey everyone :D . Im a tad confused. I have my activity level set as sedentary and I am allocated 1250 calories per day to start with. Now I also have my activity tracker synced with MFP and I understand that those calories can be reduced or increased depending on my activity levels that it records throughout the day. What I dont understand is, one day I did 8000 steps and my calories increased by 72 (making it 1322 for the day). Then the next day I also took 8000 steps but my calories were reduced by 50 (making it 1200 calories for the day). Im just confused how such a huge change could happen from one day to the next? Can anybody please explain? TIA.

Step counters are not accurate... Ignore them for calorie counts. Use them to motivate you to step more. Eat your 1250 each day. Weigh and measure everything.

Usually, the difference comes down to how the steps were recorded. If you took a lot of steps at a faster pace one day and spaced them out at a slower speed the next day that could easily account for the difference you're seeing.

    For example:
Today I took a lot of steps within a small segment of my day. I have been relatively sedentary outside of that.
Friday I took less steps, but they were spread out throughout the day. So I spent most of the day active and on my feet.
My calorie burn today is going to be roughly the same as Friday (from the looks of it) or slightly less. There is a 1416 step difference between the 2 days so far.
