Hello!
So I've been exercising quite a bit for the past year and a half but more recently, I took up a 1/2 marathon running plan. It's on the aggressive side with 4 runs a week plus I tend to regard any day I don't run to be rest even if I do another activity. This means my week generally looks like:
4x running
2-3x yoga
3x- rock climbing
1x- cycling or swimming
It's a lot...but I'm single and have time to waste and love to move.
Anyways! I have noticed in the past couple of weeks that my appetite is really low. Saturday I ran 10 miles and had to practically force feed myself just to reach 1200 calories for the day (I don't mean net...). It's almost as though my hunger signals are disabled.
I'm making a strong effort to eat even though I don't feel hungry/nothing is appetizing but I was just wondering if this is normal? If anyone has experienced this? Will it pass and be replaced by a shovel feeding phase??

I'm not nearly as active as you, I'm only training for a 5k and just barely starting a stronglifts 5x5 program, but I've noticed on days when I work hard, I have less appetite. I read it has something to do with the hormones that are released during hard work. During mild, easy work releases the "hunger" hormone, and doing hard work that forces your muscles to adapt releases the appetite suppressing hormone. Maybe that's it? Just make sure you get something in your system, because you need it sustain yourself during these periods of high activity.0
