MFPs sugar goal is notoriously low. A lot of very successful MFPers don't even track sugar. I have it on there, but I don't sweat it :). I'm all about calories & protein!

I eat very little to no refined sugar. It's all about clean eating. When you cook your own food instead of eating from a package, it's easy to barely consume sugar. There is a difference between refined table sugar and sugar from fruit because the sugar in fruit also comes with fiber, vitamins and minerals that offset the negative spiking effect sugar has when it enters our body. I would say, eat as much fruit as you want as long as you are still reaching your weight goals. Long story short, if you want to eat less sugar you have to commit to cooking more meals and eating less packaged products.

I wouldn't worry about it so long as it isn't interfering with your other macronutrient goals. Most healthy adults will not have any issues.

I eat 0 refined sugar and heck barely ever even eat raw sugar.. the only sugar I eat is from veggies and fruit yet I always go over my mfp sugar allotment by basically eating an apple!

thanks. I do cook from scratch mostly, it was just surprising the amount of sugar in fresh fruit. Will continue to eat my fresh fruit and veg as ususal.

Unless you have a medical reason to monitor your sugar intake, I'd disregard MFPs goal. The same could probably be said for sodium.
