Ok so ive confused myself.... if i get up at the beginning of the day and put on my pedometer and let it rack up steps all day.... are those steps counted in my exercise log as being a "calories burned" activity or do those count as my normal daily activity that you dont track and mfp calculates as part of my "sedentary life" ?

I really hope that makes sense?!?!?

OK - if you were conservative and labeled yourself sedentary - then you could log steps.

If you said you were active & then logged a bunch of steps on top of that .... you "could" be double counting.

Pick one - low activity level & log OR higher activity level & don't log. MFP will give you more calories for exercise, or more calories for activity level. The hard thing about walking (and steps) ..... calorie burn depends upon speed. I don't burn a whole lot unless I'm really focused (swinging arms, etc).

You might check both numbers & pick the lowest one .... to be safe.
