I'm a foodie. LOVE food. Fresh food. Good food. Flavorful, spicy.
The only way I was able to stick with my new healthy lifestyle for now 5 months is that I cook at home. New recipes, premium ingredients, and than portion control (I know exactly what is in my food and how much I'm eating).
I want to eat good food while on vacation. But when I'm googling and "yelping" much of what comes up in Miami is fried, fried, fried...
And vegetarian restaurants have butter sauce on a lot of things and most of them are far from low calorie.
All I'd like is a nice place, clean, with a kind of outdoor feel or windows, great coffee, maybe nice tropical fruit salads, fresh made to order food from local ingredients. Can anyone suggest something like that?

Where area are you staying in Miami and where are you only seeing fried, fried, fried? I am from South Florida and there is plenty to eat; healthy, vegetarian, Latin, there's everything. People in Miami aren't staying in bikini shape by eating fried everything. I can't even think of one place that only has fried food.
You are extremely limiting yourself and should research more. You can also make special orders, such as no butter sauce on the vegetarian meals. Why do you think Food Network has the South Beach Wine and Food festival there every year? It's not because our food sucks.
Oh, and the restaurant you described is exactly News Café in South Beach.0
