Party Food!

I'm going to my niece's birthday party tonight & I'm stressing about food options. It's un-nerving me now I'm on MFP I always know & plan what I'm having for every single meal & log everything in advance, but I've no idea what food there'll be.

Should I eat something before I go & just drink diet coke there so I won't be eating stuff like calorie-laden sausage rolls etc? I don't want to start un-doing all the good I've done. Thanks.

It's a party. Save some calories that day, eat some yummy food and guesstimate what the calorie count was. Log it and move on!

One meal won't kill your diet. Eat some cake!

I've tried eating before I go and I just end up eating more calories

You could choose to take a party dish to share that you know the calories in (if you speak to them up front)

Save calories for it .. pre-log how much you're going to drink in alcohol... take small amounts of high calorie foods, bigger amounts of low calorie and step away from the food table

Pretty much what I was going to say. You've gotta live sometimes! Usually in these situations I eat a bit less the day before and after to even it out a bit, but eat what I want and have fun at the party.

This is about a lifestyle change and learning to eat in moderation. Living life! It's a party-go, be conscientious in your choices, use moderation and have fun!
