Treadmill upstairs - any issues with structure/noise?

Hey everyone,
Looking for some input on putting a treadmill upstairs in a spare bedroom.
Ideally I think they should go on a concrete floor, like in a basement, but that's not an option here.
For those that have tried it, is there any issue with 'bounce' on the floor?
It's a modern construction (2006) wood joists, subfloor and hardwood.
What about the noise downstairs? The room is above an open concept family room / kitchen - would somebody pounding away on a treadmill be unbearable for the rest of the family?
What is your experience?
Thanks.
