Is there anyway possible to find out how many calories burned doing household chores. I wish my fitbit could tell me that

I don't log anything that I did while gaining the weight. I only log intentional exercise. I do believe that there are settings in the exercise section of the logging (I see it in my newsfeed from friends logging it).

Unless you're really getting your heart rate up for a lengthy period of time, probably not enough to matter.

Normal daily activity is already accounted for in your activity level. To count them, would be double dipping.

No, I do housework while I'm fat, I do housework while I'm thin. It's not exercise, it's just a part of life.

Like everyone else said, if it is something you did while you gained, then it clearly isn't a good enough calorie burner to lose.

Now, if you're doing squats and jumping jacks while cleaning, maybe that's different ;)

It's irrelevant because it's already included in your daily activity level on MFP.

Now, if you clean houses or office buildings for a living and are on your feet doing heavy intense cleaning every day, you'd want to adjust your activity level to account for that.

But the normal housework that we all have to do? Just assume it's already in your allotment.

Chores should be accounted for in your daily activity.

Hi. I did very heavy and flat-out cleaning for a job for three years while I was getting fatter and fatter. I don't count it as exercise on MFP, because when I do, I don't lose weight.

Yeah I would imagine it would be so small, not worth logging.

Unless by house work you mean chopping firewood, tiling a roof or digging a large veggie garden I wouldn't even think about it.

Maybe attach 20kg weights to the head of the broom, vacuum or mop and you might get a heart rate up :p

I only log exercise that is outside my normal realm. For instance, I do not log in 76 calories an hour while watching television or sleeping.
