Disneyland

I'm going to Disneyland in a few weeks, and I'm wondering if anyone my size has experience with the rides, specifically Space Mountain. I found a site that discusses being heavy at the Disney parks, but it focuses on Disney World in Florida. Space Mountain's cars are different at the one in Disneyland (the seats are side-by-side, not toboggan-style).

Anyway, I'm 5'6" and around 315 pounds. I carry most of my weight in my hips, butt, and thighs. Seats are almost always an issue for me, so I'm nervous about the seats on the rides and the lap bars. I've heard the seat belts are okay as long as you pull them out all the way before sitting down.

Any suggestions? Thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks. :)

i live in socal and have an annual pass so i go to disneyland fairly regularly. so you can get an idea of how i carry my weight - i'm 5'11" at 324lbs with 61" hips.

i've only had an issue once on the orange stinger ( a large orange shaped ride in california adventure ) and my issue was that the lap bar comes over the head and it wouldn't fit past my dd boobs lol.

otherwise, certain rides aren't exactly comfortable, but they're manageable. some of the rides aren't always worth the discomfort, but i've also been to disney a million times and ridden every ride there. for a first-timer, you'll have to judge whether the discomfort is worth it!

however, for the most part, unless it's specifically directed at little kids, most of the rides are ok for bigger people. like i said, some are a bit of a tight fit, but totally doable.

if you have any ride specific questions about the fit, feel free to ask and i can probably give you an idea on how comfortable it was for me so you can make your best judgement!

I read that part of ride updating often involves enlarging the seats, and I know Space Mountain at DL was updating not too long ago. I wouldn't worry, I think you'll be ok. Maybe not 100% comfy, but not asked to leave the line and not unsafe.

    Have fun!

have fun, and if you have a gizmo like a fitbit, wear it! You'll have a great time and get to preen a bit at your step count when the day is done!

On my last trip I was 270 and 5'8". I fit into everything just fine (space mountain, splash mountain, California Screaming, Goofy's flight school, etc). I think I was a litttle heavier the year before. Lost 8 lbs over the five days there and the six driving to and from. Have a blast!

I definitely have a FitBit. I'm excited to see that day's step count. :)
