Depo and weight loss

I looked for this specific question, but couldn't find it asked any where else, so I do apologize if someone else has asked this.

I was on Depo for 3 years and gained 80 lbs. I just now started my first period.
Before depo I had a fast metabolism and was skinny. I know Depo is a cause of the gained weight. So here is my question.

After the first period, does it get easier to lose the weight?

Yes and no :/ Sorry, but I've been there. I was on depo a long time ago and went from a size 1/3 and about 114 lbs for YEARS to a size 13 and at least 170 lbs. After being off the depo for a little while, I dropped 40 lbs almost instantly it seemed like. Over the years and 2 kids I've gained some of that back as I was never was able to get all the way back down.

That said, yes, part of it was the Depo, especially because it makes you SO hungry and you learn to eat that way and to eat those portions. Now I'm at 149 and a size 6 and still struggling with eating the right portions and losing that last bit of weight. It's really hard :( good luck to you and just keep at it- it IS possible.

Hearing that losing weight MAY be a bit easier now makes me happy. It's better than having the same struggle I'm in now.

I was on Depo a number of years ago. I gained 30 pounds within those two years I was on the shot. After I stopped getting the shot and had my period, I lost about 30 pounds. I did end up losing the weight, but the weight was extremely stubborn. It required a whole lot of dedication and personal motivation for that weight to come off. Now that I no longer mess with Depo, I seem to be able to lose a bit easier. I hate hate hate the Depo shot and judging from what other women experience while on it, I am not the only one lol.
