Help learning the ropes & too much sugar??

Right now I am focused on figuring out what the heck I am eating . I seem to be having problems getting to my calorie count without adding too much sugar. The sugar is mostly from fruit and veggies. I have been using the foods that we have in the house and I guess I am going to have to learn new fruits and veggies to eat instead of what I am used to. My husband does all the cooking and shopping, so I can most easily control my breakfast, lunch and snacks ( dinner not so much). He cooks pretty healthy food, so If I know what he is making for dinner, I will be able adjust my foods the rest of the day. It has been funny getting him to actually measure the amount of oil he uses. Turns out he does not need as much as he thought...or sometimes any at all. Any suggestions for lower sugar fruits and veggies? I am not getting enough calories right now. Never thought I'd say that!

Don't worry about the sugar provided you don't have a medical issue with sugar.0
