I have been logging, watching, weighing, measuring all my food & exercising for 19 days and all I have lost is 1.1 lbs. Am I missing something? Please help

Sometimes it's just slow. Your body needs to adjust. But if you're really concerned, you could go to the doctor. They might be able to help you out :) I know it sucks, cause you want better results faster, but at least it's going in the right direction :)

How are you calculating your exercise calories? MFP gives incredibly inflated estimates so if you're using their numbers that could be the reason.

Usually when I start a new program or routine I gain the first week then slowly Ill start to see the weight come off. Don't get discouranged. Muscle weighs more then fat. I try no to get on the scale too much, but I def recommend taking before pictures and measurements. They are the best way to track your progress. Keep up the good work! You can do it!

Hello, fellow Albertan! I took a peek in your diary and it looks pretty good, a few things that I saw but not enough to keep you from losing. (For example, one day you logged soup for lunch at 0ml and 0 calories). How aggressive did you set your weight loss rate? Do you log every single thing? (seems like a dumb question, but I've seen people who would not log binge meals :) )

I did Curves several years ago, and I have to say I lost a ton of inches everywhere but very little on the scale no matter what I did :s. The counselor couldn't figure it out either because I was really diligent with my food choices and calories, drank all my water, and went without fail 5 times a week?? Don't give up because all that tightening things up, losing inches and cardio are just as important as the numbers on the scale :D. Eventually it all worked itself out <3

I meant, when you log your exercise, how do you know how many calories you burned?

Yes I remember that day I was to go back and enter a different soup, I have set my weight loose goal to 1.5 lbs a week, It says that I should be eating 1200 cal. but lots people have told me that it is not enough so I bumped it up to 1400 cal. per day and there doesn't seem a difference. And yes I log everything I'm really trying to be faithful at it. I do feel healthier and sure notice when I eat some I shouldn't.
    thanks Julie

Sometimes the # on the scale does not matter much at all. I lost 15 pounds, was still 10 away from my goal, started lifting weights and over the course of a year I have stayed the same but lost several inches and my pants are way too big. Measurements are the way to go. You also may want to take progress pics every so often so you can actually see the changes. Good luck.

Looser pants is great! I know it's hard to be motivated when the metrics you want to see change aren't changing.
