I have signed up for Daily Burn; started their Live to Fail weight training program and my life have gone downhill since.

Second week and I have gained weight. I am zig zagging my calories using freedieiting.com formula working out 5-7 days per week. My diary is logged into another app, I do eat healthy, only problem I can see is maybe no drinking enough water.

My thighs are really feeling a lot firmer, stomach going down, bottom stopped rolling etc, but this weight gain is driving me nuts. I love the program, but detest the scale movement.

It's a new exercise, you have a 'pump' going on - glycogen/water stored in the muscle for recovery.

If you're eating at maintenance or deficit (are you logging accurately?) it'll drop soon.

Take measurements. Muscle weighs more than fat so the scale may be misleading. Also, try to drink at least 8 glasses of actual water a day. It really does make a good difference.

How long have you been in maintenance before starting the new workout? How much weight have you gained? Weight fluctuates day to day and week to week. You could go up several pounds over a week or two due to water retention caused by the new workout routine, time of the month, saltier-than-usual foods, etc.

Maintenance doesn't mean you will stay at the exact same weight. I would think you could fluctuate up or down 5 lbs or so. And over the long haul, if your weight training is effective, the point is to put on a little muscle weight, so you will look skinnier but might weigh a little more (though that will take much longer than a couple of weeks).

Thanks everyone. I need to lose at least 30 pounds. I really need to drink my 8 glasses of water daily and do some at least 20 minutes of cardio along with my weight training.

I do log and weigh food everything I eat - in another app.
