I had been doing so well!!!! 4#s a week for the past 3 weeks.....then WHAM! at weigh in this monday morning.....up 2# from last week! I mean really!!!! A GAIN??????? Anybody have any tips! I'm desperate! Was hoping to lose at least 10 more before we go to the beach in 3 wks. :frown:

Are you drinking enough water and cutting back on your sodium? This can cause you to retain water and it appears as a gain.
Also, what kind of workout are you doing? If you're doing strength, this could be an increase because of an increase in muscle mass.
Hope this helps.0 -
Drink mucho water!! :drinker: This may be why you are not seeing the scale move. If you are eating right and exercising then that may be the case. Just think about the foods you have eaten sometimes eating a lot of bread does it too.0

I aree with the other commies.. If you had a salty day the day before than it's probably water weight.. Drinking more water will help flush that extra sodium out.. Also, are you getting ready to start your TOM? I fluctuate when I am getting ready to start mine and during.. Those are some things to take into consideration.. You're probably still losing inches too.. Do you feel skinnier? When I have a bad weigh-in I just tell myself, "Well, I feel skinnier than I did last week, and onwards we ride.." I know.. I'm a sap, but it helps.. Don't start psyching yourself out that you're not doing something correctly.. Your body doesnn't know when it's been a week.. Your brain might, but not your body.. So keep going girl.. You got this.!0

Is your food diary accurate? Cuz if so, I don't think you are eating enough most days. If you do this, yes you will lose a lot of weight in the beginning, but if you don't fuel your body enough, after awhile it's going to harm you.0

You know, Nelski, you're probably right. My diary is accurate....I log EVERYTHING religiously and until I went back and checked after reading your post, I actually thought I was dead on cals every day (other than Mondays and Thursdays as those are my boot camp days and I work out extra hard---lil tough to eat an extra 1000 cals!). But now I see that I've been 300-400 cals under most days the past week. Guess I really didn't pay too much attn....I've been really sweatin the sodium intake because that to me can creep up on you in a heartbeat! On most days I drink 12+ glasses of water so I really don' t think that's the issue. It's just frustrating. I know that it's not always a bad thing (could be the beginning of muscle weight gain that will help to continuously burn cals) but it's still somewhat disheartening to see the scale go backwards after you've been working so hard and actually seeing fantastic results. Thanks guys for your input! :flowerforyou:0 -
Could it be "that" time of the month. I gain at least 5 lbs that whole week. It is SO frustrating too. Even if I take water pills and limit my sodium intake, sometimes you just can't fight your bodies hormonal changes. Honest to God, I Googled it last week because I was so upset @ the 7lbs gain. I am down 9lbs now from where I was last week. That is how much Mrs. P makes me fluctuate.
Hang in there hun!0
