Out of shape vets

ive been out of the marine corps for almost 5 years. Boot camp was my greatest achievement of my life, not to mention I looked sexy as all hell after those three months. But that was in 07. My goal is to get down to my post boot camp weight (119lbs. I'm 5', I'm 150lbs at the moment) after two kids and stressing over everything, I have found it impossible to stay motivated when I don't see the results. Is there ANY way to lose weight faster? Without killing myself like at boot camp? And also battle depression/various forms of anxiety and PTSD (not deployment related) lol

Take your time getting used to a new way of doing things. Start by committing to logging in the diary every day.0

You have done this before but now you don't have to go crazy. Take your time, baby steps. You can do this!!
Best wishes0 -
You don't have a lot to lose. Take it slow and steady. A good mix of exercise and diet will do it for you. As everyone here says, weigh everything you eat, and log everything you eat. If you watch TV, do it on a treadmill. Treadmills are not very expensive these days. If you keep your diary open to public, MFP members can give you suggestions.
You a Bruins fan? I watch the games while walking on treadmill. You can easily burn more than 1000 calories at a relaxed pace.0 -
The only requirement is the caloric deficit.0

^^ This. I am a vet of the "easiest" branch (AF, of course) As far as 'work-outs'...you can incorporate some of the calisthenics from boot and something as simple as a couple miles of walking every other day. Track all of your food to keep within caloric standards and to make sure you're running at a deficit. Just don't get stupid with running too deep a deficit as that's when injuries happen, as well as the potential to rebound in the other direction with intake. You didn't gain the weight overnight, you aren't going to lose it overnight. Cliché but true. Above all else, take care of you and good luck!0
