The Quest For 200 Continues....

Been here 37 days and have lost 13 of the 200 pounds I came here looking to lose. The goal seemed daunting, impossible, and out of reach, but as the journey get rolling, it is starting to seem somewhat doable. Has anyone taken this journey, to lose a similar amount of weight? What did you do to keep from getting discouraged? Any tips, words of wisdom, and of course, friends welcome. Have a great Friday!

It has always been helpful for me to remember that weight loss doesn't happen over night--that it will take a long time and that's okay. One small, obtainable step at a time is how you lose weight. Ignoring the media's idea of "weight loss" like LOSE FIVE POUNDS THIS WEEKEND!! is ridiculous.

I've lost 69 of the 162 I want to lose. Almost half way there ! For me, I'm watching my blood sugars so I am on a low carb/ whatever fat count. I try to keep my daily carbs around 30 per day and on good days I achieve my goal. 60 carbs is probably the most I go to, except during Christmas, lol. I am in the process of a remodling a home so I get a good bit of exercise from that. I am trying to walk at least 15 min a day on a treadmill at about 2.5 mph.
My tip would be it truly has to come from within "you", the desire to have a different life. Then it doesn't become, I messed up, I'll start again on Monday. It's Oh, I ate too much for this "meal/snack" and I'll adjust the next meal or exercise to burn off the difference. No condemnation over a perceived failure, just acceptance of the new life you are living.0
