Carrying calories over through the week

Hi all I'm on 1200 calories a day ... Is it possible to take those calories left over to the next day as long as it doesn't go into the next week? Only some days I don't manage to eat all my calories ... Thanks for any advice xx

at 1200 calories per day I would make sure I was eating my 1200 calories per day...it's difficult as it is to actually get proper nutrition at that paltry level of intake...going under that and saving calories for later is not the best idea in the world IMHO.

Also, 1200 calories is for sedentary...exercise more and earn more calories...then we can talk about carrying calories over through the week.

When I was on 1200 before I did much exercise I'd regularly carry calories over. I could easily eat 900 on the odd day without feeling hungry if I knew was going to eat loads the next day, or had eaten loads the day before. Same sort of approach as intermittent fasting.

Can I have some of your calories? :) I don't understand how people gained their weight in the first place if they can't even eat a mere 1200 calories a day. But anyway in answer to your question, I would think you can, yes.

1200 plus exercise calories I assume

Yes I follow a weekly plan. I use the nutrition last 7 day report on the app which gives me my average and how much under my goal is ..I always try to make sure that I am at or slightly under goal (by up to 500 calories) over the previous 7 days even though some days go over and some under

I will never borrow future calories though

Personally I look at every day as a new day. It's the only way I can manage things "in the moment" so that I don't play number games with my calories, more or less, which I've tried and has just created more stress for me. Yes its good to see where you are trending, and to adjust accordingly so that good habits come from it. Good Luck!

    yes
the app makes this easy, under the nutrition tab you should be able to see your weekly goal and how close to it you are

Taking your post at face value, yes it's fine. Just make sure you keep that in mind when you weigh yourself.

I did this for Thanksgiving and Christmas and was on 1200 calories a day. The app does make it easy like @4legsRbetterthan2‌ mentioned. I just wouldn't make too much of a habit of it...it's one thing if you know you have an event coming up, but eating under 1200 a day for a long stretch of time can really cause some nasty side effects.

Regardless of your daily calorie allowance, yes you can carry them over to the next day.
Lots of people look at their calories on a weekly basis
App is easy to do that with and will tell you your daily average for that week and how many over or under you are each week.

I ALWAYS carry over/under calories. I'm at 1200 too, and I've found that I prefer to have variety in my days. So, I track my cals daily, then always switch to look at the past 7 days. As long as I'm at or slightly under, I'm happy. Even slightly over every once and a while isn't a tragedy. Your body isn't clocking what happens every 24 hours, only what you're doing over time. So there's no reason not to do this, if it works for you.
