Someone mentioned making crackers using a dehydrator and left over veg. I've never heard of this. Has anyone used this equipment and is it any good. Couldn't veg be baked in the oven to dehydrate instead of having another piece of equipment cluttering the kitchen?

Yes, you can bake them in the oven. You'll need something like flax meal to bind them. Just use a low oven temperature so they don't burn.0

I have one.... it sits in my pantry collecting dust. You could use a low oven to dehydrate, but my oven doesn't go that low, and I wouldn't be comfortable leaving the oven on for the length of time it would require, except for making kale chips. I loooove kale chips.
I have never made crackers, but I have used it to make fruit leathers.
If you want to try it, buy one on craigslist or eBay, people are always getting rid of them0
