Hi, I've been working out for a month now and everything was going good up until recently. My knees, especially my right one has been bugging me. There's sharp pain whenever I do anything that puts strain on it, jumping jacks, jogging etc and when I'm resting if I press on the inner side of my knee it hurts. The pain isn't horrible but it's there.I really don't want to really injure my knee because I have no insurance to go see a doctor.I want to know if I take the rest of the week off and restart monday will I lose any of the progress I've made so far? I would really hate to see all my hard work go away:( I will still do an easy 30 min walk every other day, just so I can do some form of exercise. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what a rest week will do to your progress, but I do know that injuring your knee and having to sit still for a longer period of time (knee injuries can last a LONG time) would be even worse. Take the rest you feel your body needs, and also check if there's maybe something you can do that won't strain your knee as much (different workout, different shoes etc.).0

Then take the week off and restart (providing your knee is ok) on the Monday.
Sometimes, in our exercise training, part of the training is when we have to take time off and how we handle it.
Either that or you could push through it all and "hope" no lasting damage to you knee is done which could, in the end, result in medical intervention.
Personally, I know which one I would go for and it is not the latter.0 -
Looks like I'll be taking a break.I never had any of these problems before.I feel old lol.0

I wouldn't cance messing up my knees for anything.
And, my performance in sports is actually better after a few days rest (as long as it doesn't stretch into a few weeks/months).0
