Extra protein is driving me crazy!

I've been working out a lot (mostly Jillian!) and was advised to up my protein, so I changed my macro settings to 40/30/30 and was aiming for about 80g of protein a day.

Normally I LOVE meat and eggs so I thought this would be easy.

One week later, the thought of meat and eggs was making me nauseous, I craved carbs all day (even waking up in the night with the overwhelming urge to eat something carby), I was bloated beyond belief and suffering stomach cramps.

I eventually gave in and went back to eating more carbs (basically increasing my portions of wholemeal bread and brown rice, and having cereal for breakfast instead of eggs).

Now I feel wonderful again!

Did anyone else have such a miserable time trying to increase their protein intake? Will this affect my workouts?
