I am on the birth control nexplanon. It is the implant that is in your arm. I have have it since October of 2013. However, just recently it has sent my period completely out of whack. Since Christmas Eve, I have had my period for 4 weeks total. It is horrible!! The bloating is ridiculous and I have had to buy so many tampons it is crazy! Has anyone else been on this BC and had any of these issues? It is just so weird, that a year and a half later I am having issues. That is exactly when I started dieting, so I am just wondering if maybe that has something to do with it.

Errrrr. No. Maybe this would belong in the support forum? I'm sorry you are having troubles, what does your OB say? That would be my first call.

I ended up having mine removed after a couple of years for similar issues. Unfortunately, water retention and hormones often go hand in hand.

I had mine put in at the end of September 2013 my first period lasted 6 weeks the next was 3 weeks then 2 weeks then I finally got it down to a week once in a while it's back to two weeks but not crazy heavy or anything. Doc just said it was a side effect when I asked about it. It's frustrating but I'm gonna wait till i need to replace it and just get my hubby fixed instead lol so one more year for me. I think it's worth it. But I haven't had another 4 weeker like u. Sorry that happened to u.

I had that and it was horrible! I had it the full three years, and I bled all the time and put on twenty pounds.

Had it removed a month ago and my weight started dropping easier...could be total coincidence but at least I'm regular now.
