    I agree I can tell the difference between soreness and pain. I had soreness (DOMS) I was unsure about when I started lifting heavy deadlifts... my back was weak and they work the whole postieror chain. it was just really sore. I tore a ligament in my ankle doing insanity.. THAT was pain. You will know..listen to your body
