I have been on my journey since June 2014. I have lost over 100 lbs and have a way to go. While I am thrilled with my loss and looking forward to an active life with my family. I'm curious about one thing.
How do you or are you keeping it exciting? As I lose each pound, I fit in my clothes better, I'm more confident at the gym and more active with my children. But soon it will come to an end. I'll be at my goal weight, I'll be at whatever clothe size it'll be. I'll be able to do things at the gym, I can only now dream of and playing with my kids will never get old, but still.
So while your maintaining for a month or longer, how do you keep going? How do you keep it exciting?
What do you to switch it up?

Thank you in advance.

Pick new goals that take effort and time and make you feel awesome about yourself when you accomplish them.

Run a 5K. Learn to skydive. Bike tour the Pacific coast. Learn to sew. Progress through a heavy lifting program/a more advanced one. Get certified to teach a type of fitness class you love. Master cooking a foreign cuisine. Join an adult sports league.

    Definitely learn to skydive.

I have a few random things to say about this.

First of all your weight isn't the only metric that constitutes success.

There are a number of fitness related goals you could establish that you could focus on while maintaining your weight, so that's one major thing I'd consider. For example you could focus on improving run times if you enjoy running or some other form of cardio. You could focus on bringing up your lifts like your squat for example.

Performance based goals can be a good thing to get your focus on something outside of your weight or your body image and yet at the same time, improving your fitness can lend itself to also improving your body composition.

As far as keeping it exciting you may find that these performance related goals do the trick. If they don't, you may want to look into learning new exercises and keeping some sort of variety in your training program.

Also, while maintenance can be trying/stressful, don't lose sight of all the hard work you put in to get to where you are now. That, by itself, is exciting.
