Hello Everyone,

Is there any report or any stats on this site which shows the projected weight loss based on our daily diary which we can then compare to the actual weight we lost and see if we are on the right track??

No, because they know it's hocus-pocus. I occasionally keep track of it on my phone calendar because I like being angry.

Nope, I use a spreadsheet. It's mainly to see if I am logging somewhat accurately. Since my weight loss is generally ahead of my "expected loss" when I am in that mode, I suppose it is a good thing?! That is, I'm either overestimating intake or underestimating output - the opposite of what usually happens for most people on MFP (at least initially). Good luck sir!

Not on this site, but through Evgeni's Excel MFP reporting tool:

I only eat back half of my exercise calories. Had one day when it said I would lose 21 pounds. Stayed on the straight and narrow for five weeks. Lost 9 pounds. (A decent loss, about which I am not complaining.)

You can write it down if you care. It's pure math, though, based just on that day. Since I don't eat or exercise the same every day, there's no reason to assume it would be meaningful. That's why it jumps around, too.

For example, last year when I mostly fasted for Ash Wednesday it said I'd lose some insane number of lbs (this was back when they would give you that info regardless of calories), but of course I didn't eat like every day. But the overall math calculations are the same ones that predict how much you'll lose if you eat your goal, and those have always been basically correct for me. Right now I'm doing TDEE and not eating back exercise, though, so it predicts I'll do worse than I do (since the calculation assumes 0-3 calories from exercise). Point being it's only as good as the inputs and the assumptions it's based on.

^^THIS. I have lost 7 pounds in 6 weeks, and mfp still suggests I will lose anywhere from 12-15 pounds in 5 weeks. I am very pleased with my results, but they are NOWHERE near the estimates for me. I don't eat my exercise cals and average 1330 calories/day intake. I personally wish I could turn off those comments entirely as they are purely false. Most of my days are about the same calorie wise and activity wise. Granted, the betablocker I am on has my resting heartrate 40's- low 50's, so that may account for some of the discrepancy. But I view the estimates as inaccurate...I know people that lose slower, and many that lose faster, but would like to meet a few that hit the estimates.

I used to log the projected weight loss in 5 weeks in my calendar on the appropriate date...it was actually ballpark accurate most of the time
