women losing slower than men???

My husband and I have been on here for about a month.....he a week longer than I. We both need to lose weight, yet still wanted to have some sense of normalcy and be able to still live like a normal "younger" couple and still go out once in a while.

I am very proud of my husband...while he has more to go, he is already down nearly 20 pounds!
Me on the other hand.....8 1/2! SIGH......
I truly am happy he is doing this for both of us, and am happy when I hear him tell me how much more he lost, however, mine is coming off MUCH SLOWER and I get somewhat discourged with myself.... :indifferent:

Any thoughts?

I think that if you are disappointed with losing 8 pounds in a month, then you should probably consider making your goals more realistic and healthy.

That's fantastic that you have both been so successful!

Women's bodies hold on to fat for much longer because our reproductive cycle is 9 months long, and our bodies intuitively try to keep at least enough fat on our bodies to last through that 9 months if we needed to. Men take 10 seconds to reproduce, and body fat isn't as essential to that process as it is for us ladies.

I would be ecstatic if my husband was losing weight faster than me - consider it a blessing that he is giving it his all rather than watching you do it by yourself! :)

We can't compare ourselves to men. We don't lose weight at the same rate, unfortunately!

On the other hand, 8.5 pounds in your first month is amazing!! So don't be disheartened by that!
