I don't think Lent is supposed to be a weight loss strategy.

Lol. Clearly this is on the same level with pornography and hate speech.
What is Abuse: Pornography, graphic or disturbing images, hate speech, etc. Basically, if you wouldn't want your children or your boss standing behind you when you open the post, or if having it on your computer would get you fired from your job, you can consider it Abuse. This is for severe, urgent violations.

and just fyi for the flag happy people ITT:
Users who flag content which does not meet the criteria for a flag will be subject to warnings and points.

I'm catholic , but will be sticking to the traditional "giving up something" for lent.

I've never ever heard of lent being a Catholic thing??? I thought all Christians did it... because here in the UK, the Church of England does it. Or, really, it's more of a cultural thing because a lot of us atheists etc also give something up. This year I won't be giving anything up though. I don't have anything that I do that I shouldn't, since I can fit any food that I want into my calories and I can't drink much on my medication anyway. I don't smoke and I'm a fairly nice person. Maybe I can make an extra effort to meet my fibre needs or something.

Protestants don't generally practice Lent-- at least none of the ones I know do. In fact I don't think I know anyone who does.

I am going to lock this thread.

    15. Divisive Topics Are Better Suited For Groups, Not the Main Forums

Divisive topics and posts, particularly those that seek input from or are relevant only to a select group of users, are better placed within an appropriate Group rather than the Main Forums. For example, topics relevant to only one religion should not be placed on the main forums but rather within a group related to that religion.
