Mother of twins taking back her life! Need motivational peeps!

So my story goes…..13 years ago I had twin girls. I gained 63 pounds!!! Was full term (which was fantastic! I had healthy babies, and a natural delivery too boot!) I lost 47 pounds in 7 DAYS!!! SEVEN! Which is probably the fastest weight loss in history, but reality of it is it was just all the extra fluid and etc (won't go into details for any men out there) Unfortunately I have held onto about 20 extra pounds. I started using this app about three years ago but then quit. I hate to admit but I was a quitter! I just recently started again and have been seriously giving it my all the last two weeks. I've lost almost seven pounds (which is great). I'm trying to figure this stuff out on my own. Basically what I have done is eliminate fast food, diet soda, sweets and all the crap! I have been eating lean meats, tons of veggies and fruit. I also include whole grains like whole wheat bread, brown rice, etc. No pasta and no heavy dressings. For the most part its plain unless it's dressed with natural ingredients. So the hard part, I still feel hungry. Mostly on my days off. I addressed this in another discussion. I work three 12 hour shifts. Nights (horrible). I am on my feet and don't stop moving until my break. I don't get many, its an ER, so if duty calls (I am an EMT and phlebotomist) I wait. I average about 6-8 miles a night, including lifting and such. Now on my days off instead of laying around (trying to recover from staying up all night) I do at least 20 minutes on my gazelle, dance around to music with my girls and some weights. This is a huge improvement for me. I'm newly single and just feel miserable about my weight (starting to feel better, recently got into jeans I hadn't worn for three years) so inches are coming off. I feel like for 13 years I have been dedicated to my girls and I still will be, I just need to do this for myself. No one else….I hope to get a lot from this site, a new way of eating. Not just losing weight, but teaching myself how to eat right and feel good. I know my energy level has changed since eliminating the crap while working on nights. Last week someone brought a crap load of Taco Bell in at MIDNIGHT. I AVOIDED IT LIKE IT WAS EBOLA! Donuts, cookies and chips are a regular in the radio room. I am proud I've been able to walk away and if I hesitate I figure I must be hungry to make me even think of eating it, soooo I go to break room and eat an apple or quest bar. Much better.
Well this was long winded….sorry. I just felt I needed to actually read my progress in writing and maybe find some new friends who have the same goal as me. A life style that will be rewarding.
Thanks for listening!!

Hello! I just happened to be wide awake and scrolling through the "community" pages and ran across your post. I signed up with mfp months ago but have not been very consistent with logging in. I have a few FB groups and tend to check in more there, but I am looking to build relationships with like minded and motivated people! Sounds like you have your head on straight and know what to do (like staying away from Taco Bell! If you're on FB and interested in our accountability group, please feel free to check iin! We have a great group with clean eating and other weekly and monthly challenges. You can find me at https://www.facebook.com/BeachmamasBeachbody
Wishing you the best in your quest for better health and hope to see you around mfp or facebook!
