Are Body Fat calculators accurate?

Ok, so I know that the readings themselves are notoriously untrustworthy, but I was wondering if the changes would be reliable? Supposing I lost bodyfat, would the reading also go down, and vice versa for if I gained fat? Or will it just fluctuate unpredictably with no method to its madness? Thanks

if you are consistent with how you take the measurements, you should see the calculated percentage go down as you lose bodyfat. That's actually a good use of those calculators - for watching if the trends are going up or down.0
