Who is doing Tabata?

Since I hurt my knee doing one of my cardio vids, I have turned to Tabata (for now, knee-friendly movements) ;) I am doing just one 4-min session (w/5 mins warmup and cooldown), so perhaps 100 calories is burned, so it's not making a big impact on my calories right now, and it won't until I graduate to at least 2 sessions (I plan on eventually working up to 3).

However, there is an unexpected benefit. It drives my energy level way up. I don't get sleepy in the middle of the afternoon on days I do Tabata. I have found it is a great way to start my day. It has proven to me that exercise has more benefits than just an assist to weight-loss.

Of course, I am not always thinking such positive things while I'm doing it. It truly is "4 minutes of hell." :p

I plan on adding lifting soon. One thing at a time!

Which exercise(s) do you do for the 20 sec work 10 sec rest workout?

Today, I have done high knees (with arms going up and down), shadow-boxing, front-and-back kicks, and low-impact jumping-jacks. I am looking for more knee-friendly movements for variety. I want to do the squats (pure torture!), but I am not going to do any squatting until I lose at least another 10 kilos.
